Description
Two broad fields of tone meet along a single low horizon in The Divide I Canvas, a hand-painted canvas that works as light and atmosphere rather than subject. The upper field is brushed and luminous, the lower one quieter and denser, with nothing but that seam between them. Its restraint is the point: the piece holds a large wall calmly and sits comfortably with contemporary or transitional furnishings.
