Paragon

The American Dream is alive and well at Paragon! In 1970, a young couple, Bonnie and Wendell Glassco, saw an opportunity in making moderately priced homes beautiful. Today, the company is among the largest wall décor manufacturers in the country, with corporate showrooms and a sales rep network extending from coast to coast. Bonnie and the late Wendell Glassco started Carousel Decors, providing decorative accessory packages to the manufactured housing industry. In 1975, they purchased a local competitor – Paragon – and a legacy was born. Paragon’s need for affordable framed art in their accessory packages took the business in a new direction, profoundly shaping its future, when in 1979 the company began manufacturing framed prints. Paragon soon discovered an untapped market in the home furnishings industry: a need for well-designed pictures at affordable prices. In 1981, Paragon Picture Gallery was created and by 1989, the company closed the décor kit business and began focusing solely on wall décor. In 1990, the company began manufacturing higher-end wall décor. Since that time Paragon has added new types of alternative wall décor including mirrors, canvases, and wall sculptures. As the multigenerational company continued to grow, Paragon acquired high-end wall décor specialist, Kinder-Harris (rebranded as The Studio) for an added dimension of exclusive hand-painted art and lamps to the product assortment.
