Description
A moored boat sits at a quiet dock in Ready for a Cruise Canvas, painted with the broken brushwork and loose light of a plein-air study. Water, hull and pilings are all built from the same short strokes, so the scene holds together as paint before it resolves as subject. Mounted in a floater frame with no glass in front of it, the canvas surface reads directly texture, edge and all. It suits a den, hallway or lake-house wall where a relaxed nautical note is wanted without the usual coastal shorthand.
