Description
An orchid in a patterned jar and a full-blown poppy in a round vessel are painted directly onto wood in Gilded Garden I Framed Art, the grain reading through the brushwork. The vessels are as carefully worked as the flowers, so each panel functions as an object study as well as a floral. Finished without glass, the hand-painted surface stays at full strength brush marks, panel texture and all. The pair hangs together for symmetry in an entry, dining room or bedroom.
