Description
An upright stem is drawn in fine pencil line in Botanical Sketch I Framed Art, with seed and pod studies laid out beneath it as a working naturalist would record them. The plant runs straight up the center of the sheet, giving the plate the plainest, most orderly structure of the related group. Float mounted on a hand-wrapped patterned fabric mat, the sheet appears to hover above its ground. That construction gives the piece a depth a flat print cannot match, set within a stepped wood frame.
