• Glass leaves cut from post-consumer wine bottles keep the slight thickness and texture differences of the bottles they came from.
• Because the glass begins as discarded wine bottles, the fixture puts a post-consumer material to work overhead instead of newly manufactured glass.
• Small round brads pick up the oval of each glass leaf, so the fasteners that hold the fixture together also decorate it.
• Thin iron ribs curve upward and hold the leaves in layers, so light passes through more than one plane of glass.
• The semi-flush profile stays close to the ceiling, which makes it usable in a hallway, a closet, or a bedroom with limited headroom.
• Leafing is worked onto the ribs by hand, which is slow craft and why the metal shows slight variation from one fixture to the next.
• Four lights give ambient rather than task illumination, and dimming is supported if you add a compatible switch, sold separately.
