The Met x Eichholtz presents the Chandelier Imperial S, echoing the splendor of a fluted Ionic column (ca. 300 BCE) from the Greek Temple of Artemis at Sardis. Our elegant piece, with its brushed-brass finish and smoke glass, endeavors to capture the essence of ancient Greek architecture. The height can be adjusted to suit your space, allowing you to tailor its presence to your interior. Infuse your home with historical allure and modern sophistication.HISTORIC PROVENANCE The Chandelier Imperial is inspired by a marble column (ca. 300 BCE) from the Temple of Artemis at Sardis, a highlight of The Met's Greek and Roman Art collection. The massive section of a fluted Ionic column, which stood at over 58 feet tall in its original location, showcases delicate foliate carvings on the capitalâa unique feature among the surviving columns from the temple. This chandelier boasts elegant ridged elements in homage to the column's detailing, and is crafted with smoke glass and a brushed-brass finish.
