- GFCIs protect you from serious injury due to electric shock. They are required by National Electrical Code in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor locations.

- TIP: The 20A outlet is not as commonly used as a 15A outlet. A 20A outlet is only required if it is for a specific appliance known to use over 15 amps of current. With a 20A outlet a 12 gauge wire or larger is needed.
